ARTICLE 17: IMPLEMENTATION OF COMMISSION DECISIONS

Article 17, paragraph 2 of the SPRFMO Convention provides that Members of the SPRFMO Commission can object to a decision taken by the Commission within 60 days of the notification of the decision.

In accordance with Annex II (1)(a) of the Convention, a List of Experts in the field of fisheries is maintained by the Executive Secretary.

Following is the list of ojections that have been presented by Members to Commission decisions thus far:

• 2023 Objection to CMM 01-2023 by the Russian Federation
• 2018 Objection to CMM 01-2018 by Ecuador
• 2013 Objection to CMM 1.01 by the Russian Federation

As per the COMM7-Report (Annex 8), the Executive Secretary will notify SPRFMO Observers of the establishment of a Review Panel under Article 17 of the Convention, and of the findings and recommendations of the associated Review Panel.
