The SPRFMO Secretariat is happy to announce that the process to recruit a new Data Manager has finalised and the successful candidate is Dr Tiffany Vidal.
In joining the Secretariat, Dr Vidal brings her wide experience with scientific monitoring, assessment, and research relating to commercial and recreational fisheries –she is greatly aware of the critical importance of comprehensive and high-quality data, data analysis and the systems in place to facilitate data analysis. Her experience with fisheries ranges from being a fisheries observer to public and private sector consultant, and most recently working with the Pacific Community (SPC).
At the same time, the Secretariat farewells Ms Marianne Vignaux, who has been the SPRFMO Data Manager since July 2020, and who has been deeply involved with the Secretariat as both a consultant and data analyst since 2008. Marianne’s contribution to the quality and maintenance of the SPRFMO data holdings has been fundamental; more recently, her involvement and coordination of the Scientific Committee meetings and processes were recognised and highly valued by the Scientific Committee. As a colleague Marianne’s positivity and helpful nature will be very missed by all the Secretariat staff.
Dr Vidal is starting her work with the Secretariat remotely on Monday 15 November 2021. Considering the travel restrictions in place and the quarantine requirements, Dr Vidal is expected to arrive in New Zealand during January 2022. The Secretariat is doing their best to support and assist her in getting settled in her new role and is looking forward to welcoming her to the office.
Members, CNCPs and Observers may now address any data-related communications to Dr Tiffany Vidal on her SPRFMO email address: [email protected].
