The Secretariats of the South Pacific Regional Fisheries Management Organisation (SPRFMO) and the North Pacific Fisheries Commission (NPFC) met virtually on 12 July 2023 to sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) the Commissions of both organisations agreed on. Mr Craig Loveridge, Executive Secretary of SPRFMO, and Dr Robert Day, Executive Secretary of NPFC, signed the Memorandum and were joined by staff from both Secretariats.

The SPRFMO-NPFC MoU is aimed at facilitating consultation, cooperation, and collaboration between SPRFMO and NPFC in order to advance their respective objectives, particularly with respect to matters of common interest. The MoU is valid for three years, with possibility of renewal.
