The Commission for the South Pacific Regional Fisheries Management Organisation (SPRFMO) invites applications for the position of Compliance Manager. SPRFMO is an international organisation responsible for the conservation and management of non‐highly migratory fishery resources in the Convention Area. The Secretariat of the Commission for the SPRFMO is headquartered in Wellington, New Zealand.

The Compliance Manager is responsible for the delivery of fishery monitoring and compliance work remitted to the Secretariat in respect of all fisheries operating in the SPRFMO Convention Area. Accountable directly to the Executive Secretary, you will work within a small Secretariat and with Members and CNCPs throughout the year to ensure that SPRFMO fisheries are conducted in compliance with conservation and management measures and are managed within the catch limits set by the Commission.

You'll have a tertiary qualification in either fisheries management, fisheries science, ocean law or similar. You will also have 10 years practical fisheries management experience, including monitoring of catch limit managed fisheries, and experience of compliance monitoring and analysis and an interest in contributing to the conservation and management of the South Pacific Ocean.

SPRFMO offers a salary package up to NZD$144k net (dependent on experience), international relocation to Wellington, a generous annual leave (as per the SPRFMO Staff Regulations) and supporting the successful candidate in obtaining an Official visa if required.

The short-listed candidates will be notified before 31 August 2020 and invited for a remote interview with the Executive Secretary. The interviews will be held during September 2020. The process may be subject to changes depending on the evolution of the current worldwide sanitary crisis due to COVID-19. Such changes will be informed on a timely basis.
