The sixth workshop of the SC is meeting in Valparaiso, Chile, between 28 and 30 May 2018.

VENUE
The sixth workshop of the Scientific Committee will meet to assess the Jack mackerel stock. The workshop will be held in Valparaiso, Chile, 28-30 May 2018, with the Hotel Diego de Almagro as venue. The Chairperson of Scientific Committee is Mr. Jim Ianelli (USA).
ENTRY AND CUSTOMS INFORMATION
Entry Requirements
Upon arrival, all passengers must register with international police and present their ID document (ID card or Passport) and have their Visa stamped (depending on country of origin).
International Police will hand you a Tourist Card, which is a personal and non-transferable document that lasts for 90 days. Do not lose this card as it will be requested by Customs upon leaving the country.
Visa to enter Chile
First of all, please contact the Chilean Consulate in your country.
Present your passport or ID document that is valid to the end of your stay; accredit economic solvency that will permit you to travel and pay for your stay; a letter of invitation from your host or Chilean company or a hotel reservation.
International Airport Arturo Merino Benitez
The Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport is the main air terminal of Chile. Also known as Pudahuel, it is located approximately 40 minutes from downtown Santiago.

- Airport Tax: The airport tax for international departures is US$ 30. In some cases, this tax is included in the air ticket; however, you should check with your travel agency.
Transportation
Transportation to Valparaiso from Santiago airport
Although there are no commercial flights to Valparaiso, driving time from Santiago to Valparaiso varies between one hour and a half in a bus and one hour by car. These are the options offered to go to Valparaiso.
- Taxi or vans: There are several taxis/van options at the airport to go to Valparaiso. Fees are around US$120. Please be advised to only take official transport at the airport. - Uber or Cabify: Both companies are stablished in Chile. Fees are around US$130.
- Bus: First, delegates have to go to Pajaritos bus station to take a bus to Valparaiso. Fees to go from the airport to Pajaritos bus Station vary from 3 US dollars in a bus to 15 US in transfer (https://www.nuevopudahuel.cl/fromairport?language=en&target=buses). Bus tickets from Santiago to Valparaiso are about US$8. Recommended bus lines are Turbus (www.turbus.cl) and Pullman Bus (www.pullmanbus.com). Please consider that communication difficulties could arise if delegate does not speaks Spanish
